Spring Occupancy Planned!

SHORE/ICARE is thrilled to announce that construction is well underway for two new homes that will provide permanent housing for households whose incomes are at or less than 80% of the median income for Westchester County.

Our Elmsford development includes two homes, each with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, and is designed to serve households with incomes around $99,850 for three person, $110,900 for four persons and $119,800 for five persons. The development is being supported by a substantial grant from the County of Westchester under the HOME Program which will ensure that the homes will remain affordable to households at or below 80% of the County Area Median Income for a period of not less than ninety-nine (99) years. In addition to the HOME funds from Westchester County, Community Capital New York is providing a $678,000 loan for pre-development /acquisition /construction expenses. And a significant grant is being provided by Housing Action Council.

It is expected that demand for the homes will be high and so purchasers will be selected through a lottery of qualified applicants. The application process will commence later this Spring.

SHORE/ICARE exists to assist families struggling to overcome the challenges of poverty and homelessness. We work with families as they create their own unique path to a more fulfilling, healthy, and independent life. Striving to never turn anyone away, we enlist the generosity of a caring community through donations and volunteerism.
